BC Operators Association
We understand that not everyone has previous experience in this field, which is why we offer a comprehensive training program that caters to individuals of all skill levels. Our goal is to certify anyone who is eager to learn this trade, regardless of their background or experience. We take pride in providing hands-on training to ensure that each student gains real-world experience that is valued in the industry.
All our prices are based off of machine time, supervision time and instructor time. Our program focuses on testing not on actual seat time. The amount of time operating any machine really depends on the individual, some people pick up on it way quicker than others.
All Certificates are WCB and ITA compliant.

The program's format in a nutshell
Any of our program's can be broken up into three parts.
-Evaluation of skills and discussion of operational goals
-Instruction of how to achieve your operating Goals
-Testing

Not all are three days, but below is a description of a full program for a large machine.

Day 1
7am-11am
Safty and work booklet
We go over the standard operating procedure when going to a new site. The bathroom is located, the first aid attendant is identified, the muster station is identified, machine is looked over, and work detail is described. Once that is completed we go through the BC Operators handbook for that specific machine and complete a practice test, this is done open book and in a group format.
11am-12pm
Lunch hour
As our faciliy is located a long way from town, students will need to pack a lunch. We give students an hour to have lunch and discuss the work booklet.
12pm-3pm
Hard Skills Training
This time is machine time. The instructor will evaluate skills and have a discussion with the student on operational goals. Depending on time and student attendance, instructors may start to offer ways of improving operational skills. At 2:30pm the facility will go into shutdown mode, machines will be fueled and greased back at the main shop.
Day 2
7am-11am
Hard skills practice
We start the day going over the regular preflight for every machine. We go over the work load for the day and start operations. Instructors will observer and offer instruction on bettering the students.
11am-12pm
Lunch hour
This is the lunch hour, as said before our facility is a long way from town, students will need a packed lunch. This time is ment to be used for eating and discussion about the final test.
12pm -3:00pm
Test preperation
This time is ment for preperation for the test, a mock test will be conducted and the instructor will go over what needs to be improved. Instructors will have the freedom to do this on day 3 or on day 2 depending on students capabilities. At 2:30pm the shutdown procedure will commence and machines will be fueled and greased.

Day 3
7am-11am
Hard skills Practice
We go over the preflight procedure. The work load for the day is described. One on one instruction is given and more seat time is given.
11am-12pm
Lunch Hour and book test
This is the lunch hour, again we are located a ways from town so you will need to pack a lunch. After you're done eating, you can study, ask questions ect. The book test will start when you are ready for it to start.
12pm -3pm
Skills Test
Once you completed the book test the insructor will start asking you to perform movements specific to the Operator Classification you desire, hopefully at this point you are well prepared. On a side note, if you feel you need more seat time to pass the hard skills test, inform your instructor and they'll make arrangements for your benifit. Our goal is a 100% pass rate.

Once everyone has completed the Hard skills test and passed, the facility shutdown procedure will commence, machines will be fueled and greased. Certificates will be awarded and pictures will be taken. It will take up to three days to be added to our data base.
